A little about me

Because dogs give us everything, and ask for very little.

Dogs aren’t props. They’re family. They’re the ones waiting at the door, following us from room to room, and making ordinary days better just by being there. When I photograph dogs, I take that responsibility seriously.

My name is Tracy, and I’ve been a photographer for over ten years, but dog photography is what finally felt right. I didn’t want stiff poses or rushed sessions. I wanted portraits that felt true to the dog standing in front of me, not what someone thought they should look like.

My in home studio in Ottawa is designed to be calm and unhurried. There’s no pressure to perform and no expectation that a dog behave a certain way. Some dogs jump right in, others need time to watch and settle, and I make space for all of it. The session moves at your dog’s pace, always.

I’m drawn to bold colour and honest expressions because that’s where personality lives. A crooked sit, a soft look, a burst of energy, that moment when their eyes tell you everything you already know about them. Those are the images that last.

My goal is simple. I want you to see your dog in these portraits and feel that familiar rush of love and recognition. Images that remind you who they are, right now, and that you will still hold onto years from now.

Why my approach is different

  • I don’t rush sessions or force poses

  • I work patiently with dogs who need reassurance or breaks

  • I photograph in bold colour to capture personality, not trends

  • I create a calm studio environment — no chaos, no pressure

  • I let dogs be themselves and guide the experience

If you value connection, colour, and a thoughtful experience for your dog, you’re in the right place.
